“I am so fortunate and so blessed to work for a company that offers the kind of support that From the Heart extended to me and my family during the Katrina disaster. At first, it’s all about making sure everyone is safe. Once that is accomplished, there are a million things to do. It all hits you at once. How in the world are we able to take on an additional 15 people in our homes? Food, showers, transportation, getting personal records, insurance information, etc… The list goes on and on.  

From the Heart helped meet so many needs on so many levels that I don’t even really know where to start. Having From the Heart to turn to helped me support my family in two important ways: mentally by taking the burden off my shoulders just by being there for me, and physically with the all the financial help. The gift cards they gave us—let me tell you about the food bill for an additional 15 people—it is phenomenal! By their enabling us to feed so many, we had wonderful dinners as a family (great kitchen time together). I was able to supply them with school clothes, supplies, shoes, etc… so many basic necessities. As a result of all the additional people we housed, they also supported me with a couple of my escalated utility bills. Trying to put down in words what From the Heart has done for my family is impossible. All I can say is that we are just SO blessed to have this option for when troubled times come, and there WILL BE troubled times. From the Heart just gives you the comfort of knowing you will make it through.”
